Season Nine, 2017 – Freedom’s Got Talent 2017

Director’s Notes

Seven years ago FGT, started as a talent show for middle school students. Since that time the staff at FACT have worked to develop the show into so much more than that. We have singing, dancing, a variety of instruments, and even gymnastics that provide a wide variety of entertainment that just isn’t available anywhere else in the Freedom Community. FGT has performers from many generations, starting in elementary school all the way through adulthood. It’s this variety of ages that makes me so proud to call myself the director.

If it wasn’t for the older performers sharing their talents and coaching the younger performers, I’m not sure a show this size could exist. Sure, the talent and drive is there for the performers, but like the saying goes “it takes an army…”  And I think it is this “army” of performers, technicians, and directors that makes this show possible. I’m confident that each and every one of them would agree that if it wasn’t for our audience it would all be for naught.
Community – “a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common.”
With performers, technicians, directors, and audience members, combined, I think we have the beginning of an awesome community.
